NB announces funding agreement to increase BN enrolment, graduation at UNB, UMoncton

The Government of New Brunswick has announced 10-year funding agreements with the University of New Brunswick and Université de Moncton that will encourage increased enrolment in and graduation from the bachelor of nursing program. Under the agreements, the universities will receive funding for every graduating nurse – up to 155 nurses at UNB and up to 160 nurses at UMoncton – which will also support the expansion of the universities’ programs by 51 and 34 additional seats respectively. Under the new agreement, UNB could receive up to $18M while UMoncton could receive up to $12M. “UNB and the Province of New Brunswick have a shared vision of solving the grand challenges of New Brunswick’s health-care system and this agreement is a step in the right direction,” said UNB President Paul J Mazerolle. “Our nursing programs are on a path of growth and focus on meeting the needs of New Brunswickers.” NB (UNB)| NB (UMoncton)| CBC Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
