NSCC recognizes donor contributions, renames learning commons

Nova Scotia Community College recently honoured the memory and contributions of the late Margaret Mary Cook by hosting a dedication event and renaming its learning commons. Cook provided a $2M estate gift to the college that will be used to fund student awards at the Strait Area Campus. NSCC has also renamed its learning commons the Margaret Mary Cook Learning Commons to honour her contributions to supporting students in pursuing postsecondary education. “Margaret’s gift is a substantial investment in students at the Strait Area Campus and will support generations of graduates from all programs,” said Captain Vivek Saxena, Principal of NSCC Strait Area Campus. “We are proud to have a permanent recognition of Margaret’s belief in our students on campus with the Margaret Mary Cook Learning Commons.” NSCC Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
