Portage College and the Sacred Turtle Woman Healing Centre (STWHC) have partnered to enhance addiction and mental health support services while providing students with hands-on educational experiences. Under this partnership, Portage human services students will have access to work placements at STWHC, Portage’s curriculum will be integrated with STWHC’s holistic healing practices, and a “circle of care” will be created that combines traditional academic learning with alternative therapies. “This partnership will provide our students with invaluable hands-on experience and support the community’s need for comprehensive addiction and mental health services,” said Portage President Nancy Broadbent.
