The Government of Quebec has announced over $440M in new funding to support infrastructure projects at five postsecondary institutions. Université de Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal, Cégep Édouard-Montpetit, Cégep régional de Lanaudière – campus de Terrebonne, and Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe will use the funds to acquire new space, undertake major renovations, and create additions and expansions to address space deficits. QC also announced that Cégep de Chicoutimi’s Center Québécois de Formation en Aéronautique would receive $10.8M to acquire new aircraft and technology. Steeve Noreau told TVA Nouvelles that the equipment will be particularly helpful in ensuring students in the new DEC program in aircraft piloting, which will launch in Fall 2024, meet their required hours of flight.
