QC PSE works on strategies to ensure students can find housing

Catherine Boucher of TVA Nouvelles has highlighted the ways that several institutions in QC are ensuring their students, especially out-of-province students, are able to find housing. At Cégep de Chicoutimi, all residence spaces have been filled, so the institution is providing students with assistance finding off-campus accommodation. The cégep offers an online accommodation platform to bridge the gap between students and accommodations, as well as a team that can visit accommodations to ensure they will meet student needs. Cégep de Jonquière put out a call for landlords with vacant accommodations to offer their rental apartments to students. The institution has already received a dozen responses, which will help students find accommodation for the next school year. Université du Québec à Chicoutimi also noted issues with accommodations, and stated that it would be increasing its efforts and organizing meetings to support international students.
