RSC forms expert panel on COVID-19 wastewater surveillance

The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) has formed an Expert Panel on Wastewater Surveillance for COVID-19 in Canada that will be comprised of members from postsecondary institutions, research organizations, hospitals, and other organizations. The panel will be chaired by University of Alberta Professor Emeritus Dr Steve Hrudey, and members from the Canadian postsecondary sector will include University of Ottawa Professor Dr Rob Delatolla, Polytechnique Montréal Professor Dr Sarah Dorner, University of Calgary Program Chair Dr Casey Hubert, University of British Columbia Professor Dr Judy Isaac-Renton, University of Waterloo Professor Dr Mark Servos, and Conestoga College Professor Dr Wendy Pons. “Wastewater surveillance can offer important insights about the pandemic, by playing a key role in monitoring levels of infection, for the current and future pandemics,” said Dr Hrudey. “I look forward to examining these applications in depth for Canada with my colleagues.” RSC| Financial Post Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
