Selkirk community mourns students following vehicle accident

Selkirk College is mourning the sudden loss of a student following a motor vehicle accident that involved nineteen students and staff members. Most of the staff and students involved in the accident had traveled from Quebec to British Columbia to immerse themselves in English as part of an official languages program called the Explore Program. All other students and staff involved in the crash were assessed at a hospital and were released later that day. “Our hearts go out to the students’ family and friends, to whom we offer our most sincere condolences,” said Selkirk President Maggie Matear. “The college community grieves with the other students in the program, our faculty and staff who were just getting to know the student, and all those who are feeling this tremendous loss.” Selkirk| The Star (Selkirk) (CP)| Castanet Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
