Students from AB universities participate in rally against tuition increases, budget cuts

The Alberta Coalition for Affordable Tuition (ACAT) recently led the Student Day of Action rally to protest tuition increases and the recent cuts to postsecondary education. Students at the University of Calgary, University of Alberta, MacEwan University, and the University of Lethbridge held protests at the same time. At UCalgary, several students formed a picket line outside drama faculty classes and wore red squares as a sign of solidarity. At UAlberta, students gathered on campus and participated in an open microphone session to discuss their concerns about tuition increases before marching to the Alberta Legislative Assembly where they rallied alongside MacEwan students.
