Students struggle with affordability issues in Montréal, change higher education plans

Faced by a housing crisis and an increasing cost of living, many students have changed their study plans to avoid moving into the Montréal region. Students shared their stories with 24 Heures about the financial difficulties of finding housing or pursing studies in the Montréal region. One student, Emina Elezovic, explained that she opted to study in Saguenay instead of going to the Université de Montréal because of the lack of accommodation options. Another shared how he moved from Montréal to Québec City, which allowed him to reduce his working hours and study full time.
