Theological schools use financial boosts to prepare for the future: Editorial

Theological schools must prepare for the future and the challenges it will bring, writes Sara Weissman. Weissman discusses how several seminaries have taken part in an initiative led by the Lilly Endowment that helps to ensure that seminaries continue to be viable and that graduates are prepared for the future. Using grants provided by the organization, seminaries have pivoted to recruit more diverse students, expand their hybrid and online course offerings, and make attaining a theological education more accessible and affordable. Weissman writes that theological schools must identify and address the challenges they are facing as they plan for the future and embark on new initiatives.
