UCalgary receives gifts from city, industry to support research work

The University of Calgary has made two announcements about recent gifts and investments that support ongoing research and initiatives at the university. The City of Calgary invested $350K into UCalgary’s Civic Commons Catalyst Initiative, which is focused transforming Calgary’s downtown using innovative solutions for economic recovery, downtown reinvention, and impactful investment. “The transformation of downtown Calgary will yield benefits citywide for generations to come,” said Ward 7 City of Calgary Councillor Terry Wong. The now-closed Canadian Energy Pipeline Association also announced that it would be gifting $865K to the university’s Pipeline Engineering Centre in order to ensure the association’s legacy lives on.
