The University of the Fraser Valley has announced that it has received membership in the United Nations Academic Impact Initiative (UNAI). UNAI members have aligned their principles with the United Nations’ goals and mandates and focus on promoting equal access to education, protection of human rights, and sustainability and conflict resolution. As a member, UFV will undertake at least one activity that supports UNAI and its 10 basic principles each calendar year. “UFV has a long history of actively engaging in teaching, scholarly, and service activities that are aligned with the UNAI’s principles of addressing poverty reduction,” said UFV Provost James Mandigo. “This membership [will enable the UFV community to] collectively address the importance of education to achieve United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.” UFV Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
