The University of Manitoba has launched the UM Arts Career Apprenticeship Program. The pilot program will give UManitoba Bachelor of Arts graduates the opportunity to gain a year of paid work experience with local employers who are interested in hiring and mentoring arts graduates. The initiative will provide participants with exclusive employment opportunities as well as support preparing their applications with the goal of encouraging recent graduates to stay in the Winnipeg area. “Our students graduate with exceptional job-ready skill sets and this program is a perfect way to help them get over the hurdle of finding that first job,” said UManitoba Dean of the Faculty of Arts Dr Jeff Taylor.
