UOttawa unveils institute focused on quantum technologies

The University of Ottawa has unveiled the NexQT (Nexus for Quantum Technologies) institute. NexQT will consolidate the talents and skills of UOttawa’s researchers to boost research in photonics and support innovation and commercialization. The institute will focus on a variety of areas, including quantum imaging, sensors, computing and devices, and real-life applications. “UOttawa is recognized as a major research and innovation hub in quantum photonics, this new institute and our partnerships … will mean our quantum research capabilities are among the world’s best,” said UOttawa Associate Professor Dr Ebrahim Karimi.
