UQTR begins construction on pavilion dedicated to green, responsible economy

The Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières has begun construction on a new pavilion that will be used to accelerate the transition to a green economy. The facility will be named the Pavillon Pellerin-Marmen sur les technologies vertes et durables, in recognition of UQTR’s ongoing partnership with the company Marmen. UQTR hopes that the pavilion will become a hub for research on the topics of the environment, renewable energy, agri-food production, and sustainable development. To fulfil this mission, the space will feature urban greenhouses, solar panels, geothermal systems, multidisciplinary laboratories, and an experimental kitchen. The Government of Québec is contributing $45M to the project, which is expected to be constructed by 2026.
