USherbrooke student arrested for attacking professor, director over late penalty

A student at the University of Sherbrooke has been arrested after attacking a professor and the director of the engineering faculty, reports the Journal de Montréal. The student reportedly became angry with his professor after he was penalized for arriving late for his course, and a later discussion about the event with a USherbrooke director developed into verbal abuse. The Journal states that, after the student was notified that he was suspended and expelled from campus, he again attempted to attack a staff member. The charges laid against the student include assault, harassment, and carrying a concealed weapon. USherbrooke has made psychological supports available to members of the faculty.
