University of Victoria Libraries has launched a new podcast called Taapwaywin that is focused on telling previously-unheard Indigenous stories. Taapwaywin: Talking about what we know and what we believe is an eight-episode series that includes talks with Survivors, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers and gives listeners a chance to learn the truth before seeking reconciliation. The podcast will include a variety of Indigenous stories and experiences, and will explore questions around knowledge creation, dissemination, and preservation; and the silencing of certain knowledges and worldviews. The series was created by NCTR Co-founder and UVic Associate University Librarian – Reconciliation Ry Moran. “This podcast is an effort to dig deeper, fill in some of the gaps and place particular emphasis on the voices of Indigenous Peoples,” said Moran.
