Canada invests $137.9M in quantum sector through NSERC, Alliance grants

The Government of Canada has announced that it is investing $137.9M into Canada’s quantum sector through Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) grants and Alliance grants. $5.4M will go to the annual CREATE competition, $29.7M will go to supporting international research collaborations and projects through Alliance International Quantum Grants, $62.4M will go towards scaling up Canada’s quantum science and technology research capabilities through the Alliance Quantum Grants, and $40.4M will be used for the development of large-scale research collaborations through Alliance Consortia Quantum grants. “The National Quantum Strategy is supporting a vibrant economy, including the research, businesses and talent needed to strengthen Canada’s leadership in quantum science,” said the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry. “These grants will help Canadians make their mark as frontrunners in the quantum revolution.” NSERC Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
