George Brown renames atrium in honour of former president Anne Sado

George Brown College has announced the renaming of the atrium at its Waterfront Campus: the Anne Sado Hall. The atrium was renamed in honour of the contributions of Anne Sado, who served as the President of George Brown from 2004 to 2021. Under Sado’s leadership, the college doubled its enrolment; added a new campus and student residence; and expanded its experiential learning opportunities, partnerships, and applied research. George Brown has also launched the endowed Anne Sado Bridging to Opportunity Scholarship, which will support students who are enrolled in the institution’s bridging programs. “[Sado] has played a pivotal role in transforming the city of Toronto,” said George Brown President Dr Gervan Fearon. “[W]e must recognize that it was her vision that really defined the role of a post-secondary institution here at the waterfront.” George Brown Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
