The Government of Ontario is investing $27M in two initiatives that will boost carpenter training. The first initiative will enable the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBCJA) to expand four existing training facilities—located in Cambridge, London, Ottawa, and Windsor—and create a new facility in Sudbury. The second initiative will support the expansion of the UBCJA’s Carpenters’ Regional Council Workforce Development Program. “In the face of tariff threats to Ontario workers and jobs, it’s more important than ever that we keep investing in our workers, so they have the skills and training they need to succeed,” said ON Premier Doug Ford.
