UVic warns of active tuberculosis case on campus

News

The University of Victoria has reported an active case of tuberculosis on campus. The Canadian Press indicates that the infected person–identified as a member of the UVic campus community–has been self-isolating since their diagnosis; those who may have been in close contact with the person have been notified about screening and supports. “Please be assured that UVic is working closely with and following the advice of Island Health to respond to the situation and ensure all steps are being taken to protect the health and safety of students, faculty, and staff,” indicated the university in a recent statement.
