Canada announces $693.8M for discovery, applied research

The Government of Canada has announced $693.8M in funding for discovery and applied research. The majority of the funding ($554M) will be provided through NSERC’s Discovery Research Program to support researchers conducting research projects in disciplines such as biology, computer science, and physics. $94.5M will be invested into the Canada Research Chairs program, $30.6M into the College and Community Innovation (CCI) program, and $10M into science promotion and outreach programs for youth.
