The Council of Ontario Universities (COU) has released their AI Task Force’s report: Charting a Path Forward for Ontario Universities in the Age of AI. The report addresses four pillars: Preparing students and the workforce for an AI future, partnering with industry to advance AI adoption, advancing the responsible use of AI, and building public trust through responsible AI use. The report outlines the benefits and risks associated with AI adoption, as well as recommendations for the federal government, provincial government, and Ontario universities. “Artificial intelligence is reshaping how we learn, work and compete on a global scale,” explained AI Task Force Chair Vivek Goel. “Universities have a responsibility to lead with both ambition and human-centred care.”
