Douglas College has announced the launch of a new Certificate in Academic Foundations (CAF) – Indigenous Studies program. The program, which is open to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students, brings together Indigenous cultures, histories, literatures, and community care with general studies in math, English, and science. “This certification deepens students’ understanding of and relationships with Indigenous communities,” said Michelle Sound, Indigenous CAF Advisor. “In the process, it helps develop crucial skills – writing, research, critical thinking and more – and opens up pathways for further education, either at Douglas or another post-secondary, or after graduation.” Douglas College| New West Record Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
