Several institutions are celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Month this June by sharing resources and knowledge, holding creative events, and spotlighting the stories of their community members. Dalhousie University and Toronto Metropolitan University are among the institutions hosting Wikipedia Edit‑a‑thons in order improve online Indigenous representation. Algonquin College is hosting talks throughout the month. MacEwan University will be hosting an event called Revitalization on the Runway: An Indigenous Fashion Experience that celebrates Indigenous fashion, while Niagara College is hosting events such as an Indigenous Makers Market and a Solstice Celebration inspired by traditional “Treaty Days.” Institutions such as Kwantlen Polytechnic University, NorQuest College, and University of Saskatchewan shared reading lists and research guides about the day.
