Leth Polytech to launch Primary Care Paramedic diploma program

News

Lethbridge Polytechnic will be offering a Primary Care Paramedic diploma program in Fall 2027. This program replaces an existing certificate program and is aligned with the Alberta College of Paramedics’ new educational requirements. It will include lectures, hands-on experiences, and 520 hours of WIL, with training completed alongside emergency service professionals. Graduates will be eligible to write the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators exam. “Graduates of this program will be proficient and confident in their abilities to either ladder into additional learning opportunities, or enter the workforce in primary patient care, helping those who are often in their greatest time of need,” said Leth Polytech Centre for Health and Wellness Dean Debra Bardock.
