Memorial University has announced that it has suspended its longstanding Frecker French immersion program. Students that took part in this program would study in French in St-Pierre-Miquelon. The university said that the suspension was due to a lack of host families willing to participate. Memorial emphasized that the university continues to provide other exchange opportunities to students, including three in France and one French-language exchange with Université Sainte-Anne in Nova Scotia.
