Olds College has announced that it will be expanding its Smart Farm operations into Saskatchewan thanks to a pledge of 800 acres of land from Margery and George Steckler. The land will allow Olds to establish a platform for partnering with industry, local partners, and postsecondary institutions such as Saskatchewan Polytechnic. The expansion will support ag-tech training and research opportunities that will support SK learners, producers, and industry. “Olds College has an exciting opportunity to collaborate with local producers, post-secondary institutions, and industry partners … to help train the next generation of ag leaders and support the development, validation and adoption of tech innovations throughout the agri-food sector,” said Olds President Stuart Cullum.
