The Government of Ontario is investing $1.75M into six apprenticeship training projects across the Greater Toronto Area. The funds will be used to expand hands-on learning opportunities for apprentices and to upgrade and equip training facilities. The organizations leading the projects include Durham College, which will be introducing new automotive and electrical training labs in addition to securing in-class equipment and hands-on training opportunities, and Sheridan College, which will be expanding training capacity and equipment for apprentices in the plumbing trade. “Supporting training providers across Ontario is key to maintaining high-quality learning environments, strengthening pathways into the trades, and building a skilled workforce that can respond to evolving labour market needs,” said Skilled Trades Ontario CEO Candice White.
