QC indicates Bishop’s will not be subject to tuition hikes for out-of-province students

News

Government of Québec Premier François Legault has indicated that Bishop’s University will not be subject to the same tuition hikes for out-of-province students that have been proposed for other universities. Sherbrooke Record reports that Bishop’s would be “exempted” since it does not present a threat to the French language in Sherbrooke. Bishop’s Principal Dr Sébastien Lebel-Grenier released a statement noting that the announcement does not signal a definitive decision on the tuition hikes and clarified that Bishop’s is still waiting for the government’s final decision on the matter.
