Ryerson University has released its action plan for implementing the Standing Strong Task Force’s recommendations. Ryerson President Mohamed Lachemi says that progress has already been made in a variety of areas: In addition to senior leaders engaging in planning and a working group developing a policy on commemoration, Lachemi said that over 30,000 community members have given input on the university’s renaming. His office expects to receive a list of potential names in the spring. Though Ryerson’s name will change, the institution will still be committed to sharing information that will contextualize Egerton Ryerson’s legacy through physical and digital installations.
