The University of British Columbia’s School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture is collaborating with Buildner and the City of Vancouver on the Vancouver Tall Challenge. The challenge seeks to explore the future of tall buildings in Vancouver by inviting architects, designers, urbanists, and multidisciplinary teams to rethink density, architecture, sustainability, public life, and urban growth. Participants will develop proposals for a hypothetical site in downtown Vancouver, which will address numerous realities of urban development, such as employment, the pedestrian experience, transit, and so forth. Their proposals will inform future conversations about Vancouver’s approach to supertall buildings.
