The University of Prince Edward Island and Yukon University have each shared updates on their union negotiations. UPEI and IBEW Local 1928, which represents maintenance staff at the university, have begun negotiations. At YukonU, the tentative agreement between the university and the employees’ union has officially been ratified. The three-year agreement—spanning July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027—includes a combined 12.75% wage increase for staff, a combined 10.75% wage increase for faculty, and changes such as the addition of a teaching stream for faculty.
