The University of Saskatchewan’s College of Dentistry has launched a new extracurricular initiative aimed at solving oral health challenges. Dentpreneur teaches interested students of all academic backgrounds how to identify oral health problems, develop solutions, and explore commercialization. Students will begin by participating in Saturday workshops on innovation, design, and opportunity discovery and can progress to the later phases through an application process. The final phase of the program culminates in a summer immersion experience in Toronto with Highline DentalTech. “Dentpreneur will give [students] the environment, training and support to learn, contribute and see how far an idea can go,” explained USask College of Dentistry Dean Dr Walter Siqueira.
