Know why your students declined your offer.

The Applicant Declined Study (ADS) is used by Canadian postsecondary institutions from coast to coast to coast to understand why their admitted applicants are choosing to go elsewhere. By understanding what truly matters, you will have the intel you need to increase your conversions and set up your institution for success.

This survey includes:

  • Your Decliner Profile: A snapshot of exactly who your decliners are: age, region, grade average, employment, and so on.
  • Their Higher Ed Plans: Discover where else your decliners applied, what they wanted to take, and what they plan to do next year instead.
  • Why They Said No: Learn about the key decision factors that affected your applicants’ decisions most strongly: Program, financials, student life, and so on. Plus, get to know what student recruitment activities and marketing materials they engaged with, so that you can identify what is resonating and what is not.
  • What They Were Offered: From scholarship and awards to the timing of the offer send out, get to know how your offer compared to that of the competition.

Better strategic decisions start with better data.

The ADS was launched in 2005 to help universities and colleges to improve their conversion. Need extra guidance on how to do that? ADS clients can also purchase a custom workshop, where our consultants will help you understand how to apply your enrolment research findings.

More Data, More Insights: This study can be paired with other enrolment surveys, such as Academica’s Incoming Student Survey (ISS), to get the full picture of what’s working and what’s not with your recruitment and acceptance efforts.
