Algoma University has launched a Bachelor of Arts in Music Honours program, expanding its existing three-year degree into a four-year program. This program will offer students opportunities to collaborate with community, including arts organizations, visiting artists, Indigenous communities, and regional partners. They will also have access to experiential learning such as performances, capstone projects, and paid internships. Starting in Fall 2026, prospective students will begin their studies in the honours degree, while current students will be provided a pathway into their fourth year. “By strengthening academic, performance, and industry-focused training, graduates will be well-prepared to commence a professional career or pursue further graduate studies in Canada and internationally,” said AlgomaU Chair of the Department of Music Dr Edward Turgeon.
