The University of Lethbridge has announced plans to add a 127,000 square-foot, air-supported multi-sport dome on campus. The $13.5M dome will contain a turf field, two sports courts, and a multi-lane track, increasing space for student sports, training, and recreation. “The demand for quality indoor training, community activity and recreational facility space is overwhelming on campus and throughout southern Alberta,” explained ULethbridge Executive Director, Pronghorn Athletics and Recreation Services Neil Langevin, who added that the dome would be the only such dome south of Calgary. Construction and completion of the dome are expected to occur in 2027. The project has received $1.15M from the University of Lethbridge Students’ Union and $200K in grant funding from the City of Lethbridge.
