Less than three years since its launch, Université de Montréal’s Brave the Way fundraising campaign has reached its $1B goal. The sum, which UMontréal says is the largest ever raised by a French-language university globally, has supported 781 scholarships, 71 research chairs, and several initiatives including its Millénium Québecor and UdeM citoyenne programs. UMontréal plans to continue its campaign by focusing on developing student spaces and innovative AI solutions, and cementing its place among the world’s leading research universities. “This historic milestone will make it possible to develop projects that, not long ago, seemed unfeasible,” concluded UMontréal Vice-Rector, Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement Michael Pecho.
