The Government of the Northwest Territories has introduced the Canadian Adult Education Credential, which will help adults who have not achieved a high school diploma earn their high school equivalency. The Canadian Adult Education Credential consists of five tests that evaluate skills in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies, allowing adult learners to demonstrate their skills in communication, processing information, problem solving, and critical thinking. The credential will be free for eligible adult learners in the NWT. “[The Canadian Adult Education Credential] acknowledges the diverse cultures and perspectives within the country while empowering adults to unlock their potential,” said NWT Minister of Education, Culture and Employment Caitlin Cleveland.
