Two institutions were affected by bomb threats this week. Police have given an all-clear after a bomb threat led to a shelter-in-place order at Lambton College on Monday. Police made a thorough search of the south building and lifted the order after finding that the threat was unfounded. “Even though the all-clear has been given and the shelter-in-place has been lifted, the investigation into the false threat continues,” said Sarnia police spokesperson Constable Nelson Amaral. In Saskatchewan, the University of Saskatchewan issued an evacuation order for people in St Thomas More College, as well as the Health Sciences building, Murray Library, Place Riel, and Memorial Union building. Police searched the area, arrested a person who was later released with no charges, and examined a “suspicious” backpack.
