Brandon University’s SJ McKee Archives has received more than 50,000 photographic negatives from the Brandon Sun archives. The collection includes negatives from the 1970s to early 2000s. The university’s long-term goal is to research, describe, digitize, and preserve the photos, and to work toward giving the public access to visual records of the Westman region. “The Brandon Sun photo collection adds vital new elements to our holdings, and also helps preserve the history of our area,” said BrandonU archivist Christy Henry. “Working with members of the community, ensuring the preservation and eventual access to records that document the people and places of the region are essential functions of the archives and also key parts of the University’s new strategic plan.” Brandon Sun| BrandonU Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
