Brock gains recognition as Bee Campus

News

Brock University has gained the Bee Campus designation by Bee City Canada. The designation recognizes the university’s commitment to helping pollinators through initiatives like its pollinator garden and through research done by those like Brock Professor Miriam Richards. “Being here, we have a responsibility to respect the land by increasing biodiversity and managing the planting of native species,” explained Richards, who is also a member of the university’s Bee Campus Pollinator Team. In addition to the bee-related signage installed across campus and bee-based guided tours, Brock plans to expand its pollinator gardens with two new gardens at the Marilyn I Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts.
