Brock University will launch the Engineering and Computer Science Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics and Mechatronics Lab this Fall. This lab will allow students to design, train, and evaluate intelligent systems, enabling them to build a foundation in areas such as AI, software engineering, robotics, data science, and technological innovation. The lab includes technology such as a self-driving car, humanoid and dog-like robots, and mechatronics stations. “By focusing on this area, students move from just using technology to actually designing it, positioning themselves to lead teams and manage the automated environments of the future,” said PengWu, the Chair of the Yousef Haj-Ahmad Department of Engineering at Brock. Brock received $900K for the lab’s development from the Government of Ontario.
