A $15M campaign has been started to support apprenticeship students at postsecondary institutions such as the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. The BILD Alberta campaign, which was started by Jayman BUILT CEO Jay Westman, has already raised $7M to support students, elevate the trades as a career choice, and support the industry. Funds will be dedicated to supporting apprenticeship and pre-employment students, and a portion will fund youth engagement activities to build awareness of the trades as a career. “Supporting student awards not only removes their financial barriers, but also gives them the help and encouragement to succeed and make a real difference in their chosen field,” said NAIT President Laura Jo Gunter.
