Burnaby city council endorses gondola offering transit to SFU

Burnaby’s city council has endorsed the route one option of TransLink’s proposed Burnaby Mountain gondola, which will provide a more environmentally friendly transit option for students commuting to Simon Fraser University. The direct route will have a travel time of six minutes. Over 85% of respondents during two rounds of public engagement expressed support for the project, which is estimated to cost around $210M.
