Canada, Japan establish far-reaching agreement with academic, cultural exchanges

The Government of Canada and the Government of Japan have signed a far-reaching strategic partnership agreement that will see the two countries collaborating across a wide variety of fronts. The two countries will explore opportunities to strengthen academic collaboration and exchange opportunities for youth. The partnership also includes joint research collaborations on the Arctic, fisheries and oceans, new and emerging technology, and critical resources. CBC described the agreement as “a pledge to work together more in the future,” given that no dollar figures or details are attached to the proposed initiatives.
