Canadian students speak out against sexual violence, call for better campus safety

News

Canadian postsecondary students are speaking out about sexual violence and campus safety in Canada, following the news out of Cornell University and Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Students from St Francis Xavier University and the University of British Columbia held rallies against sexual violence, and several former students spoke to CTV News about their own experiences on Canadian campuses. “It happens all over the world. Sexual violence doesn’t have a single location,” said UBC rally organizer Isabella Korkor. “We had the opportunity to at least show solidarity, and we are hoping long-term to actually make some policy changes with the university.”
