Canadore College officially opened its Aviation Campus wing on Friday. At the celebration, Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli announced a nearly $2M investment from the Government of Ontario’s Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation that will support Canadore in upgrading and modernizing its School of Aviation Technology facility. The funding will support renovations to the aviation campus facility so that it can accommodate new Advanced Training Simulation labs and student common areas. It will also allow the college to purchase a Q400 Flightdeck Simulation Trainer, two additional Cessna simulators, and equipment necessary for housing their aviation technology. Bay Today reports that this project will allow the college to update its program offerings and train more students.
