CCNB, NBCC, organizations launch online skills assessment and development platform

Collège Communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick and New Brunswick Community College have announced the launch of a new online skills assessment and development platform to help newcomers to Canada find meaningful employment. NEXT-NB is being launched in collaboration with Opportunities New Brunswick (ONB), the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour (PETL), and the New Brunswick Multicultural Council (NBMC). The platform will assess the formal training, competencies, and lived experiences of newcomers against New Brunswick’s industry standards so that newcomers can find pathways to employment and employers can fill vacancies. “This new tool is a step in the right direction towards building a solution that will support both newcomers and the overall health of New Brunswick’s labour market,” said NBMC President Moncef Lakouas.
