Cégeps announce new, revised programs

Several cégeps have announced that they have been authorized to launch new or revised programs. Cégep de Baie-Comeau has received permanent authorization to train paramedics. Cégep de Victoriaville has been approved to launch a revised version of its DEC in nursing (180.B0) program, and has also applied for programs in the area of civil engineering, social work, and physiotherapy. Cégep de l’Outaouais has been approved to launch three new programs in the areas of radiodiagnostic technology, social work, and leisure management. Le Droit reports that three new programs will bring 210 more students to the cégep, and that the institution plans to offer inter-regional scholarships to broaden its recruitment pool. L’Outaouais also applied for a program in physiotherapy techniques, but has not been authorized at this time.
